An all-Chopin programme was followed by a positive review signed by Constantin Brăiloiu
in Journal de Genève from January 25, 1948:
“One sensed in the ovations which thanked Lipatti for his performance not only the due admiration, but that maternal affection the town where cruel fate wanted him to fly to the heaven bears him as well.”
„Dinu Lipatti approaches all works with the perfect know-how, but also with a simple heart always going deep in the mysteries of music. He was true to himself – he was the best of the best, as fierce in his eloquence as he was in his elation. He made it a benefit performance, and one sensed in the ovations which thanked Lipatti for his performance not only the due admiration, but that maternal affection the town where cruel fate wanted him to fly to the heaven bears him as well.”
